Retired Captain John Chitwood was the fifth director of IPAP. His grandfather and parents were pharmacists, so he grew up in the medical care field. He joined the Army National Guard to get scholarships to go to pharmacy school, but become interested in the PA field while working as a medic.
He talks about how he got into the PA profession, his early years as a PA, his involvement with IPAP, and the obstacles they had to overcome.
