Summary In 2002, the Association of Physician Assistant Programs (APAP) created an ad hoc committee to explore and examine information on international physician assistant education. The committee's charge was to develop a white paper on international issues as they relate to APAP and the education of physician assistants. The committee reviewed the results of a survey on international physician assistant education, canvassed educators, and identified educational activities taking place outside the United States.
