Jude Patton, PA, has been advocating for transgender rights and education well before he became a PA. Once he became a PA in the early 1980s, he continued to serve underserved communities and to educate the public and medical practitioners on the transgender community's needs. In the interview, Patton shares what drew him to practice medicine, more specifically psychology, how he has advocated for the transgender community throughout the years, his work on the Transgender Standards of Care, and what has been the most meaningful part of his career as a PA. *NOTES* FTM = Female to Male transgender person MTF = Male to Female transgender person CIS Gender = A man or woman who identifies with their birth gender 32:55 The doctor is Richard Green, MD, not James Green. 39:10 Kelly Winters, PhD, is a MTF transgender person, not FTM. |
