This collection contains materials obtained by the Society's historian, Reginald Carter, when he visited the Alderson Broaddus University Physician Assistant Program April 7-9, 2002. The visit was to review archivable material maintained by the Program, to obtain information and photographs to write a biography for Dr. Hu Myers and to write a paper describing the founding of the ABU PA program. The collection contains papers, correspondence, magazines, newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs and oral history interview audiotapes conducted with key individuals who helped establish the Program and who knew Dr. Myers. This collection contains selected items (duplicates) from the archivable records maintained by the Alderson Broaddus University PA Program and by the Alderson Broaddus University Library. The materials include a list of historical materials maintained by the Program, publications describing the Myers family and their contributions to the College and surrounding communities, magazine and newspaper clippings and reprints of articles written by Dr. Myers. The collection also contains still and moving images and oral history interview audiotapes that have been added to the Society's still and moving image and oral history digital collections.
