Tonia Poteat, PhD, PA-C, MPH, has spent the majority of her career helping to fight HIV through information campaigns and setting up HIV clinics, both nationally and abroad. She has become more focused on working to prevent the spread of HIV within the LGBTQ communities, especially the transgender community as they have the most health disparities. She is currently a professor at John Hopkins University. She shares with us how she became a PA, how she became interested in working with HIV patients, her advice for volunteer opportunities, and her advice for new PAs. |
