Summary |
"Many PAs say that the most important reason they attend the Annual Physician Assistant Conference is to earn continuing medical education hours. And, ordinarily, I'm satisfied with any educational program that offers a pearl or two that might prompt an innovation in my practice. But I had different expectations for this year's annual conference. I wanted to learn something about PAs who had a markedly different cultural background and world view from mine. And so it was that in Chicago I met Wabanang ("Morning Star") Kuczek, who told me she was motivated to become a physician assistant because her grandfather (and role model) was a traditional Yaqui Indian medicine man." |
