MEDEX Founder, Dr. Richard Smith was honored at a memorial service in Seattle on October 14th. Dr. Smith passed away in March at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii. The memorial service, in support of Dr. Smith's family, featured jazz music, personal and organizational rememberances, chocolate mousse and prosecco. This video shows the remarks made during Dr. Smith's celebration of life memorial service. Ruth Ballweg, former program director of MEDEX Northwest, MCed the event. Music was provided by pianist Dwight Beckmeyer. Speakers included Dick Smith's wife, Lorna, three of his five sons, and two of his grandsons. Other smeakers included Raymond Vath, Don Pedersen, Ken Harbert, Margaret Chambers, Ann Davis, Timi Agar Barwick, Mary Warner, Dan O' Donahue, Connie Daruthian, and Randy Danielsen, among others. |
